When an iNaturalist observation needs attention

An observation may remain casual or need correction when important evidence is missing or inconsistent.

• Verify the date, location, organism, and media.
• Check whether the photograph represents a wild organism or a captive/cultivated one.
• Review location accuracy and obscuration.
• Confirm that the identification is no more specific than the evidence supports.
• Look for duplicate or mismatched observation links in Lightroom.
