Place helps you understand the landscape around you. Tap any point on the map, search for a place name, paste coordinates, or open a saved location, and Place builds a readable field report from terrain, geology, water, land status, ecology, recreation, weather, air quality, light pollution, and astronomy data.

Instead of forcing you to interpret raw map layers one by one, Place turns them into a structured explanation of where you are and what makes that place distinct.

Use Place to

• Understand elevation, slope, aspect, landform, and terrain character.
• See watershed, nearby water features, wetlands, and flood context.
• Explore land status, protected areas, and recreation context.
• Read ecological and biological signals, including nearby life records.
• Check weather, climate, air quality, daylight, and night-sky conditions.
• Save meaningful places and return to them later.

What this is not

Place is an exploration and interpretation tool. It is not a replacement for official navigation, emergency, or legal land-management guidance.
