Fieldmark is an evidence-first organism identification app for serious naturalists, wildlife photographers, and iNaturalist users who would rather stop at family than guess at species.

Most ID apps optimize for a fast, confident-sounding answer. Fieldmark optimizes for a defensible one. It tells you what your media can support, what it cannot, what would resolve ambiguity, and what shot or recording to capture next.

How it works

• Create a case and import photos, audio, or video.
• EXIF, GPS, time, and elevation are extracted and labeled as evidence, not gospel.
• On-device classification routes the case to a broad organism group and specialist path.
• Adaptive intake asks one diagnostic question at a time.
• Geographic priors from iNaturalist, GBIF, and eBird for birds provide range, season, and plausibility context.
• A structured result explains the best-supported identification, alternatives, missing discriminators, confidence, and next media shot list.

What this is not

Fieldmark is not a green checkmark from a blurry photo. It will refuse a species call when the evidence does not support one.
