Data & Privacy

Your field records, photos, and location context should serve your work — not an ad network.

Privacy principle

Nature Tools products are designed to collect only what they need for the feature you are using. Local-first storage is preferred where practical, and network calls should be visible and purposeful.

No ad-tech posture

The goal is not to build a surveillance product. Nature Tools should avoid unnecessary tracking, ad-tech SDKs, and selling user data.

Product differences

Some tools work primarily on-device. Others need network data from public APIs, App Store services, WooCommerce, iNaturalist, eBird, GBIF, geospatial services, or optional user-supplied credentials. Product pages and support docs should explain those requirements clearly.
